Our Story
In 2008, I began my journey in church insurance by joining Fred Hardy Agencies as an apprentice. Fred, with over 50 years of experience serving ministries, became both my mentor and guide. Under his leadership, I spent 18 years learning the unique risks churches face, the importance of stewardship, and the value of providing coverage with integrity.
This experience, combined with several years as an H.R. and Legal Liability Specialist for the Bureau of National Affairs, forms the foundation of knowledge and expertise needed in today’s rapidly changing church insurance market.
Our office, based in Mokena, IL, consists of three separate agencies with nearly a century of combined experience in church insurance. This makes us one of the largest church-only insurance agencies in the Midwest. We proudly serve nearly 500 local churches and schools, managing over $5 million in annual premiums.
With more than two decades of experience in these unique industries, Guiding Light Insurance Solutions was created with one mission: to help churches secure the "correct" coverage at the "best" price. Through my Church Insurance Stewardship Program™, churches can compare policies across nearly every primary church-only insurance carrier. We identify which coverages are most critical for each ministry and advise accordingly, ensuring the right coverage at the best price every time.
Today, Guiding Light serves churches throughout Illinois and Indiana. Our access to both primary carriers and, through a partnership with GLS Insurance Group, a broad range of secondary carriers ensures that virtually no risk is beyond our ability to cover.
